Turkey Chili

I’m trying to be a tough Canadian.
I grew up in the Snow-belt of Ontario (ie:  15 min south of Owen Sound), I should be able to handle the snow…the cold…the shovelling…
GAH!  It’s enough!

February 2, 2014 snow
Who needs a WOD? This took an hour to dig out!

Probably doesn’t help that I’m 14 days away from driving down to Daytona Beach with my sister.  Hope it’s at least double digits there!

Cold weather means chilli.  It’s just a winter staple.
I know what you’re thinking.  Chilli requires meat, beans, and cheddar cheese on top.  But you’re wrong!
Chilli can be Paleo-fied (I am trademarking that ;)) and still be awesome.
Just try it. This one’s full of veggies, spices and turkey.
You could certainly use ground beef instead.

Turkey Chili tomatoes and spices
I like to put spices in piles to ensure I don’t forget one or put too much in

Turkey Chili sliced carrots and celery

Add all vegetables and spices  to the crock-pot

I like to see everything in the pot before I mix it
So pretty before the mix

Give it all a good stir
Set crock-pot to low and allow to slow cook for about 6 hours
Turkey Chili set it and forget it
Serve hot and enjoy!
After it cools, you can put it in air-tight containers and store in the freezer.
