Smoothies are “The Big Thing” right now and deservedly so.  In the amount it time it takes to boil water for coffee or tea, you can make your own protein shakes/bowls with ingredients of your own choosing.

I did get pretty fortunate recently with my employment at The Shopping Channel.  I was able to score a VitaMix Aspire blender with the 64oz wet container and the 32oz dry mill one for a pretty reasonable price.

It has essentially has changed my life.  I can make my own nut/seed butters, milks, and flours from raw ingredients (no oils or salts), soups in six minutes, chop meat, and make fabulous smoothies!

I’ve been posting a lot of recipes on my page (PLEASE give it a like…and if you like something you see on the page, could you please give it a like or a comment.  That means other people will see my page…and it grows…and more people get healthy…you know.  We all  win then!) and on Instagram so I thought I should put a tab specifically for smoothies for easy access.

For a protein powder, I have used Jaktd RX as it has very little (if any) fake sugar and it’s mainly sweetened with stevia.  I also use the “Body Logix” Protein powder in vanilla and chocolate flavour.  It is also sweetened with stevia.  It is whey protein, so if your belly doesn’t like it, another alternative is the Vega brand.

If you have a VitaMix, BlendTec, or a powerful Ninja, go ahead and use ice cubes to turn it into a super cold treat.  If not, avoid the ice cubes.  Most blenders will burn out if you try to crush them
